5 Star Jams - January, 2016

Every month I compile a playlist of my most listened to/loved tracks. I'm going to be playing catchup this month (starting with my January 2016 list). I hope that you enjoy the tunes and maybe discover a new favorite band or two.

Anderson .Paak - Celebrate : Malibu was one of my favorite albums of 2016. Love the bassline on Celebrate...

John Ellis & Double-Wide - International Tuba Day : Every once in a while I like to catch up with WWOZ's New Music Spotlight posts. This John Ellis & Double-Wide album is one of my better discoveries.

The Lonely Forest - Coyote: Recommended if you like Jimmy Eat World.

Grimes - Flesh Without Blood: It is tough to choose just one track from Art Angels. I love them all.

The Besnard Lakes - Necronomicon: I honestly can't remember how I found this album. It is good though... and makes a nice transition to:

Kurt Vile - Pretty Pimpin - I wasn't really sold on Kurt Vile/The War on Drugs until I heard this song. Now I can't understand what my hesitation was.

Bahamas - All the Time - I listened to a lot of Canadians this month. Weird.

Telekinesis - Sylvia - Michael Benjamin Lerner can do no wrong.

Lucero - Went Looking for Warren Zevon's Los Angeles - Memphis based Lucero is a new discovery for me.

Blitzen Trapper - Rock and Roll (Was Made for You) - Blitzen Trapper go straight up classic rock. Great stuff.
