A friend and I road-tripped to Philly this past weekend to see Ken Andrews and devour some cheese steaks. Good times.

Last Saturday we decided to head out to Galaxy Hut (Arlington, Va) for a little St. Patrick’s Day celebration. Well, that’s not entirely true… Yara and I didn’t realize it was St. Patrick’s day until halfway through our lunch… and we were planning on going anyway. The real reason for our excursion was to hang out with some friends and watch Lary’s (the owner of the Galaxy Hut) band, Aerialist play. Shortly after we finished our usual Galaxy Hut meal of nachos and Anchor Steam, Aerialist took the stage. Consisting of only 2 members, Lary and Nikhil, Aerialist blasted through an upbeat set of jumpy, new wave, indie rock. Somehow, Lary is able to man 2 keyboards, sing, play guitar and stomp on a foot pedal synthesizer all at the same time. Maybe this shouldn’t be surprising, since he also owns a bar, tends the bar, prepares food, serves food and sings karaoke on a nightly basis.
